Former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, has defected to the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.

The ex-lawmaker joined the ruling party after dumping the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Monday night.

Orji was issued the APC membership card by the State Chairman of the Party in Abia, Kingsley Ononogbu, on Tuesday.

Recall that Enyinnaya, the son of former Abia governor, Theodore Orji, had on Monday briefed some of his close supporters on his next move, saying it had become very necessary, following some issues rocking the PDP.

“After careful consultation and personal decision, I have decided to exit the PDP. It’s time to move on with our lives,” he said.
