Now, after years of anticipation, the fair has announced its move to a new and improved location that promises to enhance the visitor experience.
A New Home for Tradition
After extensive renovations and growth that outstripped the original location, the East Texas State Fair leadership made the decision to relocate the annual event. The public was invited to an open house to explore the new facilities located at 11315 State Highway 64 West in Tyler.
Expanding Opportunities
Jackie Darby, a volunteer for the Academic Rodeo, expressed her enthusiasm for the move, emphasizing the increased space and potential for expansion. With the addition of the W.T. Brookshire Conference Center and a new 60-acre parcel of land, the fair has found room to grow and evolve.
Preserving History
While embracing change and progress, the East Texas State Fair remains committed to honoring its rich history. Iconic elements from the old fairgrounds, such as the East Texas State Fair sign, will be preserved at the new location, providing a blend of nostalgia and innovation.
Continued Dedication to Education
Beyond the thrills of carnival rides and tasty treats, the East Texas State Fair is a nonprofit organization dedicated to education and community involvement. Since 1992, the fair has awarded over $1.2 million in scholarships and continues to support local students through initiatives like the Academic Rodeo.

The 2024 East Texas State Fair, scheduled for Sept. 20-29, promises a spectacular lineup of events, including food, rides, concerts, horticulture shows, art displays, and livestock competitions.
