After leaving his post as Super Eagles coach, Finidi George is about to return to coaching in the Nigeria Premier Football League.

The former Enyimba International coach stepped down as Super Eagles coach after disappointing results in the 2026 World Cup qualifying.

Rivers United’s management plans to appoint Finidi as the club’s head coach ahead of the next season.

The Pride of Rivers suffered towards the end of last season under head coach Evans Ogenyi.

Finidi’s appointment is expected to significantly boost the team’s performance.
