Khana LGA Chairman Lauds Gov Fubara on Bori Zonal Hospital Inspection

Marvin Yobana, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Khana Local Government Area in Rivers State, has commended Executive Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara for his recent inspection tour of the Bori Zonal Hospital.

Chairman Yobana made this commendation during the inauguration of one thousand political appointees for various positions in the Local Government Council.

He commended the Governor for keeping to his promise of completing the construction of the Bori Zonal Hospital.

“the visit of the Governor has given hope to the people of Khana Local Government Area for a speedy completion of the project. When completed, the people of the South-East Senatorial District, which comprises Khana, Gokana, Tai, Eleme, Andoni, Opobo/Nkoro, and Oyigbo, will no longer go to Port Harcourt for medical treatment” The governor is a man of his words.

Yobana charged the appointees to be good ambassadors of the LGA and of the state at large.

Furthermore, the council Boss promised to meet with the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, PHED, to provide electricity supply for the people of the LGA to boost businesses and expand revenue generation.

Yobana reiterated his decision on the dissolution of all revenue collection committees in the LGA that were appointed by the previous administration and warned them against continual parading of themselves as council revenue collectors.

He used the opportunity to announce the cancellation of revenue collection in markets within the Khana Local Government Area for a period of three months. Noting that he will set up neighbourhood watch security outfits to support the security architecture in the area.

The CTC chairman however promised to increase the stipends of security agencies, to boost their morale in providing adequate security for people of the area. He made a pledge also to provide security vehicles to aid their operations.

He also extended an olive branch to hoodlums operating on the Ogoni axis of the East-West Road and other parts of the Khana Local Government Area, urging them to turn a new leaf, stressing that his administration will not hesitate to declare them persona non-grata if they fail to change.

He further noted that in the coming days, he will be having meetings with the Road Transport Union of Nigeria including commercial motorcyclists (Okada Riders Association) to discuss modalities for reducing revenues due to the Council.
