Executive producer Steve Holland mentioned, We get to bring in new characters that people already know, but we get to tell entirely brand-new stories, and the show can go anywhere we decide to take it.

Emily Osment, who plays Mandy, hinted at some of the plot developments during an Instagram post, referring to Montana Jordan (Georgie) as the best fake husband a girl could ask for. The show will explore themes of family duties and financial challenges as Georgie navigates his responsibilities. Although much of the original cast from Young Sheldon will not be regulars in the new series, fans can expect guest appearances. Confirmed to return are Mandy’s parents, played by well-known actors.
