South African back Chris Hollis has signed for Dragons on a short-term contract.

Hollis, 25, most recently played for the Stormers.

A centre or wing, he joins the Welsh region on trial for their final three games in the United Rugby Championship (URC).

“Chris is a player who wants game time and is a big ball-carrier and man who can make his mark here," said Dragons head coach Dai Flanagan.

“I first noticed Chris several years ago when he was playing for the Southern Kings, and I’ve followed him ever since and been a big fan of his."

Hollis played youth rugby for the Bulls in Pretoria before signing for the Southern Kings and made his URC debut in 2019.

He later played for the Lions before a move to Stormers in 2022 and could line up against the Cape Town side when they visit Rodney Parade in Dragons' next fixture on Friday, 10 May.

“Chris can play multiple positions so adds great depth to our squad and is someone who we feel can be a real asset to us,” added Flanagan.
