The Super Eagles' chances of making it to the next World Cup were further diminished when they lost to the Republic of Benin and drew with Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
Nigeria lacked three players who may have made a difference in their game against South Africa and Benin Republic.
Rohr has now stated the names of the three players and insists that a lot would have changed if they were available.
Rwanda coach wants to take advantage of Super Eagles’ sloppy form with the help of their former head coach.
Rohr was sacked by Nigeria two years ago, and now the head coach of Benin, he has steered his new team to a surprise win over his former employers during the World Cup qualifiers.
Rohr has mentioned Simon Moses, Victor Osimhen and William Troost-Ekong as the players who could have helped the Super Eagles at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
According to Punch, Rohr said, “The group is still open, that’s true, and only four points separate us with six games to play.
“It’s possible that in all the last games, there can be a decision in Uyo when we play Nigeria. It could be a final because the Super Eagles will come back.
“It was difficult for them without (Victor) Osimhen, (William) Ekong, and Moses Simon. It’s a good team Finidi (George) has, and perhaps missing the very best players and Osimhen also, he can have some explanations for the defeat,”
The Benin head coach named the three crucial players who may have changed the outcome of their most recent match and expressed his belief that the three-time AFCON champions still had a chance to qualify.
