Shericka Jackson finally got her season underway with an effortless 100m victory in Jamaica.

World 200m champion Shericka Jackson finally kicked off her Olympic year with an impressive 100m victory at the JAAA All Comers meet in Jamaica.

Jackson clocked an impressive 11.03s (1.8) to get her season started on a good note as youngster Tina Clayton finished second in 11.20s, while Krystal Sloley ran 11.25s for third.

Being her first race of the season after several withdrawals, Jackson looked rusty but still managed to show her class and pull through for the deserved win.

Elaine Thompson-Herah disclosed the key ingredients and culture behind Jamaica as the best sprints nation in the world.

She's the first of the Jamaican 'Big 3' to kick off her season, so starting with an almost sub-11s run proves she's in a good shape and ready to have a memorable Olympic year.
