Celebrate Pride with All She Wrote Books' Spectacular Book Fair Extravaganza

apexlifehub.com 1 day ago

All She Wrote Books, a prominent intersectional feminist and queer bookstore, is gearing up to close out Pride month with a bang by hosting a two-part book fair on June 29 at Connexion. Owner Christina Pascucci-Ciampa is taking inspiration from the iconic Scholastic book fairs of her childhood to create an event that promises to be unlike any other - 'the gayest book fair ever.'

A Unique Celebration:

In celebration of the store's fifth anniversary and the conclusion of Pride month, All She Wrote Books will transport attendees back to the nostalgia of school book fairs while offering a diverse selection of LGBTQ+ literature. The event will kick off with a free, all-ages gathering from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring books and merchandise from All She Wrote, as well as appearances by various nonprofits and LGBTQ+ advocates.

Daytime Delights:

During the day, attendees can expect drag story hours, a special appearance by gender expert Rebecca Minor, and a captivating storytime session with Pascucci-Ciampa as Mizz Sparkles. The festivity continues into the evening with a ticketed 18+ party from 8 to 10 p.m., offering a range of activities and vendor tables.

Nighttime Nuances:

The evening portion will feature Lavender Education, Crafty Queer Studio, and performances by the talented FemMenThem cabaret group. Guests can enjoy a coloring book station, purchase unique Pride merchandise, and indulge in delicious '90s-style comfort food from Ritcey East.

Embracing Diversity:

Pascucci-Ciampa's vision for the book fair is not just a celebration but a reflection of the inclusive and vibrant queer community she has fostered at All She Wrote Books. By combining elements of nostalgia with a contemporary twist, she aims to provide a space where everyone can feel seen and represented.

Looking Ahead:

As Pascucci-Ciampa looks forward to the event, she sees it as an opportunity to continue the bookstore's mission of promoting diversity and acceptance while adding a touch of fun and excitement. The gay-ified book fair promises to be a memorable experience for all who attend.

Don't miss out on this one-of-a-kind celebration of literature, inclusivity, and Pride at All She Wrote Books' upcoming book fair extravaganza!
