Akhiru Golooba: Ugandan boxer with big dream

Akhiru Golooba, a talented boxer from Uganda, is making waves in the boxing world with his dedication, passion, and determination.

In a recent interview with reporters,
Akhiru Golooba, who is fondly referred to as Atta Soja shared his inspiring journey, from his early days as a young boxer to his current professional career.

“I had a passion for boxing since I was a kid,” Atta Soja said, adding that, “alll my big brothers were boxers, so I could get the love of boxing from them. My brother Sharif, in particular, played a significant role in introducing him to the sport.

His journey has not been without challenges, as he faced opposition from his mother, who didn’t approve of boxing initially.

However, his father and brother supported him, and he continued to pursue his dream.

“My father supported me first to go for professional boxing, then talked to my mom. I made her understand it, but all I can’t forget is that my mom was my secret fan, but she didn’t like the sport,” Atta Soja reminisced.

Now a professional boxer, he is determined to make a name for himself in the heavyweight division.

When asked about his biggest aim,
Atta Soja confidently stated that, “my biggest target is to raise my country’s flag all over the world in the heavyweight division and boxing. I want to be a great champion. With hard work and dedication, there’s no doubt I will achieve my goal”.

As the future beckons, Atta Soja is grateful for the support of his wife, who has become his rock, pointing out that “my wife is my best friend, my assistant, my nutritionist. I really love how she supports my career.” With his family behind him, Atta Soja is ready to take on the world.
