The pretty town of "Chippy" also attracts more than its fair share of celebrity residents, including Taylor Swift

In the picture-perfect region of the Cotswolds, you'll find a delightful getaway that skirts the bustling hubs of Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold.

This charming market town isn't just famous for being the domain of many a celebrity resident, it's also an idyllic destination brimming with family fun.

Chipping Norton packs a punch with several unique attractions, including the beloved Chippy Lido. With roots stretching back to the 1970s, the lido has recently been revitalised into what it now calls itself an "oasis of calm in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds."

With a 25-metre pool, a welcoming cafe, and a vast, tree-lined lawn area it's the perfect place to visit on a hot, sunny day.

Just a stone's throw from the town centre, Fairytale Farm offers a magical experience for children. The farm, which is designed with inclusivity in mind, allows kids to interact with animals, explore adventure playgrounds and enjoy sensory experiences all themed around fairies.

Fairytale Dell, an enchanting play area within the farm, boasts 20ft high mushrooms, interactive games, bridges and tunnels. It's touted as a "wonderland for children under the age of 10."

Not far from the town, you'll find the Rollright Stones, a stone circle dating back to the Neolithic and Bronze Age. The entry fee is £1 for adults and 50p for children aged 7-16, according to the Rollright Trust which manages the site.

Chipping Norton, a town that boasts a museum, theatre, and an array of pubs, shops, cafes, and restaurants, is home to thousands. Yet, the Cotswolds Tourism Board labels it as "probably one of the least explored and commercialised areas of the Cotswolds."

For every quaint Cotswold stone cottage and neatly trimmed lawn, there is a celebrity resident who calls the Insta-perfect village home. Some of the area's most famous residents, often referred to as the "Chipping Norton Set," include Rebecca Brooks, Jeremy Clarkson, Patrick Stewart, Rory Bremner and Ben Kingsley, as well as Victoria and David Beckham and family who moved back to the Cotswolds in 2021.

With country piles tucked away from the glare of the cameras, incredible scenery and quintessentially British charm, it is no surprise that the Cotswolds are so popular with the rich and famous.

Trendy hipsters from the creative world also flock to the town to enjoy some self-indulgence at Soho Farmhouse, a members-only club for those in the know.

Even global superstar Taylor Swift has succumbed to the town's charm, reportedly having hired a £3 million house in Chipping Norton as a place to get away from the city during the UK stage of her Eras Tour.

In an effort to maintain its charm, the town council initiated a project last year titled 'keep Chippy beautiful' to "empower people to take pride in our town".
