According to a news report from Punch, on June 30, 2024, a team of selected executives from the Kwara South Youth Development Organisation (KWAYORG) conducted an inspection visit to the ongoing projects at Kwara State University's Osi Campus in Kwara South to assess the progress of construction and installation works.

Upon arrival at the site, it was evident that significant progress had been made. The site was bustling with activity, with workers engaged in plastering and the construction of various buildings. Notably, the project comprises four large buildings intended for lecture halls, offices, and other facilities.

Among the four main buildings, one was nearing completion, showcasing commendable progress. The remaining buildings were actively under construction, indicating ongoing efforts towards their completion, except for one abandoned lecture theatre that is yet to be touched.

The inspection team also noted the arrival of a new transformer on-site, with installation preparations underway. Installers were present to begin mounting the poles, marking a crucial step towards enhancing the campus’s infrastructure.

The executives of KWAYORG expressed their satisfaction with the progress observed during the inspection. They extended their appreciation to His Excellency, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq (CON), and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), for his commitment to the project. We acknowledged the governor’s efforts and urged him to expedite the project’s completion to foster regional development and economic transformation.

KWAYORG reiterated its unwavering support for the development initiatives in Kwara south and the state as a whole. They emphasised the importance of completing the project swiftly to facilitate the commencement of academic activities at Kwara State University, Osi Campus. The organisation looks forward to witnessing the continued progress and eventual completion of the project.

Based on the inspection findings, KWAYORG recommends that the necessary resources and support be provided to expedite the remaining construction phases. Timely completion of the project will not only benefit the university community but also contribute to the socio-economic growth of Kwara State.
