The Kogi State Government has disbursed over N400 million through the State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) for the implementation of the Nigeria Covid-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) program in communities across the state.

Chief Momoh Dauda, the General Manager of KGCSDA, revealed this during a meeting with Desk Officers from various line Ministries in Lokoja.

According to him the approval for the disbursement was granted by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

He added that the projects, which are currently underway in the three Senatorial Districts of the state, are funded under the Social Services Infrastructure of the NG-CARES Program being managed by the Agency.

Chief Momoh Dauda elaborated that the projects being funded span across sectors such as Water, Education, Health, and sanitation, based on the specific needs of each community and group.

A total of 19 communities and one vulnerable group have already received funding for various projects aimed at improving their living conditions and enhancing their access to social services infrastructure.

It is anticipated that at least 40 microprojects will be completed and operational within the next two months, coinciding with the visit of the World Bank Independent Verification Agent (IVA) to the state.

Chief Momoh expressed confidence in the capabilities of the Desk Officers and assured them of the Agency’s unwavering support and a conducive working environment.

Furthermore, he guaranteed that these projects will have a positive impact on the lives of at least 30,000 individuals who will directly benefit from them.
