Manchester United has officially confirmed the arrival of Joshua Zirkzee as their first signing of the summer.

Zirkzee joins England’s most successful club from Bologna in a deal worth a little over €40 million as the first signing of the club’s new co-owners.

Zirkzee could pull the number 9 shirt for the club following the departure of Anthony Martial as a free agent at the end of his contract in June.

Joshua Zirkzee is a versatile forward and could play any role in attack, given that United signed a young centre forward, Rasmus Hojlund, the previous summer for almost double the fee and wouldn’t want to hamper his growth so early in his career.
