Ifeanyi Uba, the senator representing Anambra South Senatorial district in the upper chamber of the National Assembly has said that but for Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s interference, his security plan to secure lives and property in his district would have yielded visible fruits by now.

Uba who is the Senate Committee Chairman on Petroleum (Down Stream)and the Adhoc Committee Chairman investigating the Turn Around Maintenance (TAM) projects of Nigerian refineries was reacting to reports penultimate week that international music icon, Flavor Nabania had to shift the funeral of his late father to Enugu instead of his native Umunze in Orumba South local government area of Anambra State due to insecurity.

In a statement by Kamen Chuks Ogbonna, Senator Uba’s Special Adviser on Media and Strategic Communication, Uba insisted that he would have secured Orumba and the entire Anambra South if  Governor Soludo didn’t interfere to stop his security initiative to secure the entire south Senatorial district of the state despite it’s success in the Nnewi pilot scheme.

While sharing in Flavour’s concerns about insecurity in his Umunze town in particular and Anambra in general,a situation that made him decide to shift his father’s funeral outside his home,  Uba acknowledged the difficulties faced by his constituents as well as the generality of the state due to prevailing insecurity in the state.

He emphasized that he had initiated a comprehensive security plan to address the security challenges but for the state government’s action of halting it.

He said that the success of Nnewi pilot program emboldened his confidence that the security plan would have been successfully been replicated in the entire southern area of the state had it not been halted.
