Patsy R. Hubek, 1949-2024

LAKE MILTON — Patsy R. Hubek, 75, of Lake Milton, passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at her daughter’s residence.

She was born on Feb 12, 1949, in Widen, W. Va., the daughter of the late Harold S. Hunt Sr. and Ruth P. (Wood) Hunt-Barth. Patsy was born in West Virginia and moved to Ohio with her family as a child and was raised in Atwater.

She married Danny Lee Hubek on Nov. 25, 1978, and they enjoyed 33 years of marriage together until his death on Oct. 18, 2012. Patsy and Danny spent the rest of their lives living on the lake and enjoying their pontoon boat.

She was known for her great cooking, bringing her family together for the holidays and being “Granny” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Patsy spent many years being a caregiver for her family members, including helping babysit her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, John Barth; her husband, Danny Hubek; two daughters, Carla J. Miller and Annette L. Kenst; one brother, Harold Hunt Jr. and one great-granddaughter, Ayla Six.

Patsy will be dearly missed by her family of: three daughters, Beth (Steve) Reitz of Austintown, Michelle (Drew) Altimari of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Tamara Coon of Augusta, Michigan; a son, Joseph (Laura) Reitz of Homeworth; a sister, Pamela (Robert) Lung of Canton; a stepbrother, John (Cheryl) Barth Jr of Canton; three sisters-in-law, Pamela (Bill) Owen of Lewisburg, Tennessee, Rosemary Hubek of Portage, Michigan, and Lori Hunt of Alliance;12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Per Patsy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. She will be laid to rest beside her husband Danny at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at Vaughn Cemetery in Lake Milton.
