Star Wars was riding high on Disney Plus in 2021. The Mandalorian just finished season 2, and fans were licking their lips at the prospect of Andor and an Obi-Wan Kenobi show. The Book of Boba Fett, a series based on on of the franchise’s most beloved characters played by fan-favorite actor Temuera Morrison seemed like a layup for the streaming service.
The Book of Boba Fett ended up being the first big stumble Star Wars had on Disney Plus. Until then, the franchise seemed like a golden child for the service, but due to a mix of confusing story decisions, it was all but certain the show wouldn’t come back for a season 2. However, the Temuera Morrison seemingly hasn’t given up hope yet.
Temuera Morrison Still Wants A Season 2
Despite The Book of Boba Fett being lambasted by fans and critics, Temuera Morrison still has a drive to continue the series. During a recent appearance at Sydney Supernova 2024, Morrison revealed that both him and Ming-Na Wen have been pushing hard for a season 2, but it seems the powers that run Star Wars aren’t taking the bait.
“Both [Ming-Na Wen] and I wanted to work pretty hard in the hope that they might carry on [and] do a 2 and a 3 and a 4 and a 5 and a 6 and a 7,” Morrison revealed. “I’ve been trying to nudge them in that direction too. It needs more nudging, but anyway…”
From the sounds of it, it seems The Book of Boba Fett isn’t getting a season 2 anytime soon. It’s a shame, given how passionate Temuera Morrison has been about the character throughout the years. Though given how beloved his character is in the Star Wars universe, it’s likely he’ll at least have one more appearance as the character in a future Disney Plus project.
