Murillo has confirmed he’s subject to interest from Chelsea and even suggested he used his move to Nottingham Forest as a stepping stone.

The Brazilian impressed in his breakthrough campaign at the City Ground and UOL have claimed the Blues have held initial contact with Forest. However, the £50.7m asking price is said to be too high for them.

CHELSEA will be hoping to get that asking price way down over the next few months as they will need to be careful with the funds they spend this summer because of those Financial Fair Play Rules that are catching alot of clubs out.

Now – amid all the speculation and all the rumours – Murillo has indicated that he would be open to leaving Forest after just one season: “I don’t know if it’s £70m, but I know there was a buzz of interest,” the 21-year-old defender said on the Benja Me Mucho podcast. “So, I don’t know exactly how much the amount is, but I know there was interest.

“I had the dream of playing in the Premier League and I had that thought. I thought: ‘I’ll go to Nottingham Forest, have a good year and then I’ll go to a big club’. I had that in my head.

Look, Murillo has solid for Forest last season and did put in some decent performances for the club – but many CHELSEA fans will just be hoping that this is a rumour because the Brazilian is not good enough for the club yet.

The Blues have been signing young players lately – but need to get experienced signings that will make an immediate impact and send a real statement of intent – Murillo does not do that.

He be open to a move away from Forest – but the best thing for the man is to stay put as he would really struggle at a massive club like CHELSEA.
