Chelsea confirmed their second signing of the summer transfer window on Saturday morning.

The Blues previously snapped up defender Tosin Adarabioyo, 26, on a free transfer.

Now, Chelsea have just announced via their official website that they’ve completed the signing of Omari Kellyman from Aston Villa.

The 18-year-old talent has signed a six-year deal at Stamford Bridge, which includes the option of a further year.

BBC Sport claims that the deal for Kellyman is worth up to £19m.

This transfer has been confirmed less than 24 hours after Aston Villa completed the signing of Chelsea left-back Ian Maatsen.

Omari Kellyman names his best position

Kellyman, who played just six first-team matches for Villa last season, will be fairly unknown to most football fans.

The versatile youngster has shared that his preferred position on the pitch is as a central No 10.

When asked best position, Kellyman told Chelsea’s official YouTube channel: “Attacking midfield, definitely!

“As a 10. Sitting behind the striker, looking to get goals and assists.

“I’d say I’m forward thinking, attacking, just try to be positive and bring energy to the game.”

Kellyman was later asked in the interview by the club’s media if he ever looked up to any Chelsea players.

He responded: “The way Eden Hazard got the fans on the edge of their seats. I think that’s one player I definitely looked up to.”

Chelsea competition in the No 10 position

Hopefully, Kellyman is a signing for the Chelsea first team and he can compete in the senior squad.

There’s plenty of competition if he wants to play in the central role behind the striker, though.

Cole Palmer is the obvious contender at Chelsea to fill a No 10 position. The likes of Christopher Nkunku and Carney Chukwuemeka could play there, too.
