Arsenal are looking to make their first signing of the summer transfer window.

Indeed, while the Gunners are yet to make their first move of the summer, they’re now stepping up their interest in one key target.

Riccardo Calafiori is said to be a player Arsenal are very keen on, and they’re working hard on a deal to sign the Bologna defender.

Personal terms are said to be agreed, and now, Arsenal just need to agree a fee with the Serie A club.

As many will know, these types of transfer deals can drag on, but Arsenal want this move done and dusted within the next three weeks.

Arsenal want Riccardo Calafiori signed within three weeks.

According to The Mail, Arsenal are pushing to get this deal done before their pre-season tour of the US begins.

Arsenal are playing three matches in the US this summer, the first of which is on July 24th against Bournemouth.

According to Football London, Arsenal are due to fly out to the US on July 21st, so they will want the Calafiori deal done by then.

Calafiori deal should be done quickly

Arsenal hope to get the Calafiori deal done quickly, and it shouldn’t be too difficult to get their wish.

Personal terms are said to be sorted, and with Arsenal said to have a solid relationship with Bologna, it shouldn’t be too hard to get this move over the line.

Of course, Chelsea’s interest does complicate things, but given how quickly and decisively Arsenal have acted on this front, it’s fair to say that the Gunners do have an advantage here.

The ‘amazing’ defender looks to be set for the Premier League, and it looks as though Arsenal is his most likely destination at this moment in time.

Calafiori could be Arsenal’s first signing of the summer, and he could sign before the Gunners’ US tour begins.
