Residents of Oluyole Estate Ibadan want the Oyo State government to address the root causes of the protest by workers at a food production company in the area.

The residents told Radio Nigeria that the incident has resulted in two reported deaths and disruptions within the community, with them feeling unsafe and unable to move freely.

According to a resident, Mr Abidemi Olusanya, people were humiliated, beaten, and forced to walk long distances to get home due to the protests.

He hinted that the issue was reportedly related to the agitation for payment of federal government palliatives.

Meanwhile, Officers of the Nigerian Police Force were currently on the ground to maintain law and order.
