FOCUS Greater Syracuse to host forum with PEACE, Inc.

FOCUS Greater Syracuse Inc. will host an online forum in collaboration with People’s Equal Action and Community Effort, Inc. (PEACE, Inc.) to discuss its community action and needs assessment.

The forum will take place Friday, July 19 from 12:05 to 1 p.m. The virtual event will be conducted via Zoom, and registration is free and open to everyone.

The virtual event is one of FOCUS’ monthly forums, which aim to educate, facilitate, and celebrate community engagement.

The forum will center on PEACE, Inc.’s pursuit of community action in Onondaga County and the recent release of its Community Needs Assessment. As the federal-designated community action agency for Onondaga County, PEACE, Inc. plays a vital role in supporting the community and aims to help individuals achieve self-sufficiency.

Panelists from PEACE, Inc. will contribute to the discussion, including Maribel Arce, director of grants and planning; Carolyn Brown, executive director; and Todd Goehle, VP of operations & strategy.

The panelists will discuss community action, findings from PEACE, Inc.’s report, and the essential steps needed to ensure that everyone in the community can benefit from potential socioeconomic renewal, related to Micron and the I-81 project.

Participants are encouraged to access PEACE, Inc.’s Community Needs Assessment, which is freely available for review and use.

The FOCUS Forum will feature a moderated Q&A session after the presentation, providing attendees with the opportunity to ask questions. Questions submitted during the registration process may also be addressed.
