Operatives from the Benue State Police Command successfully neutralised two suspected bandits during a raid on their hideout in Katsina-Ala LGA.

Acting on intelligence, Operation Zenda personnel targeted a location in the Tse Uza area of Mbatyula Council Ward where the armed men were camped.

Upon arrival, a gunfight started between the officers and the suspects. While some bandits managed to escape, two sustained severe injuries during the confrontation.

The injured individuals were transported to the Ukum General Hospital, where they were pronounced dead. Their bodies currently await identification at the morgue.

Authorities recovered weapons from the scene, including two loaded pistols, three homemade shotguns, thirteen motorcycles, camouflage uniforms, communication equipment (six walkie-talkies), a Toyota Corolla car, and a tricycle.

This operation is part of an ongoing effort to combat banditry in Benue State.

News Central reports that suspected bandits have been unleashing terror on residents in Katsina Ala, particularly in Harga community where over ten persons have been killed in the past week.
