Senate President Godswill Akpabio has responded to recent comments made by Senator Ireti Kingibe about Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). He urged Wike to ignore distractions and remain focused on his work
Speaking at a recent event that was shared by Channels TV, Akpabio defended Wike. He advised Wike to ignore such distractions and focus on his work. He told Wike that not everyone will always agree with or praise his actions
It should be recalled that Kingibe had criticized Wike during an interview, saying that the people of Abuja were not happy with his performance. She said Wike was focusing on building roads and infrastructure that did not benefit the general population and that he did not include her in decisions about the FCT.
However, in Akpabio’s words: “I saw one Senator on TV talking about you and mentioning the fact that she was not carried along. Well she is a member of the Senate, once the decision is taken, she is bound by the decision.
