Several top players from clubs like Arsenal, Barcelona, and Real Madrid have not performed well in terms of scoring at Euro 2024.

While some players have become stars at the tournament, others have missed many good opportunities to score. A detailed analysis shows the ten players who have struggled the most with finishing, based on their expected goals.

10. Orkun Kokcu 

 Kokcu, playing for Turkey, took several shots without hitting the target and missed more goals than expected. He failed to convert any of his seven shots, missing his expected goal tally in his team’s tough tournament.

9. Pedri

Pedri from Spain, known more for setting up plays than finishing them though taking multiple shots per game, hasn’t scored in his appearances.

8. Bruno Petkovic

Bruno missed a penalty against Spain which affected his scores in the tournament. He missed all his attempts, falling short of expected goals.

7.Aleksandar Mitrovic

Aleksander from Serbia, who, despite a prolific season at his club, couldn’t find the net at the Euros, underperforming his expected goals across three matches.

6. Mbappe

Mbappe who plays for Real Madrid now, is sixth on the list. Although he scored from a penalty, he hasn’t managed to score from open play despite numerous attempts, falling short of his expected goals.

5. Lamine Yamal

Lamine from Spain. While his playmaking has been impressive, he has yet to score his first international tournament goal, missing more goals than expected from his attempts.

4. Kai Havertz

Kai from Germany, who despite having a high expected goal rate and scoring twice, has missed more chances than any other German player.

3. Romelu Lukaku

Romelu hasn’t scored in any group-stage match and was notably ineffective against France, missing more goals than expected.

 2. Antoine Griezmann

 Antoine is second, with no goals or assists so far, falling short of his expected goals.

1. Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo tops the list as the least effective finisher. Although he gets a good position but, he hasn’t scored at all,  missing his expected goal mark.
