Bauchi State revives ministerial press briefing after 11-year

Bauchi State Government has revived the Ministerial Press Briefing after an 11-year hiatus, thanks to the efforts of the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Communication, Usman Danturaki Garba

NATIONAL ACCORD reports that the briefing, which was last held in 2013, was reintroduced to provide a platform for the state government to engage with the press and share its achievements.

The briefing will now be held annually, with a compiled report and compendium produced at the end of each year to leave a legacy of the administration’s achievements.

The Commissioner expressed gratitude to Governor Bala Mohammed for approving the revival of the briefing and directing all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to cooperate.

“let me seize this opportunity to express my deepest appreciation to His Excellency the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed (Kauran Bauchi) for according us the opportunity to reintroduce the Ministerial Press briefing by not only approving but also directing all MDAs to cooperate 2024 with the Ministry in that regard and so also the members of the Executive Council. He also supported us with logistics to conduct this exercise, we remained grateful”, he said.

Garba also appreciated the support of the Executive Council members and the Special Adviser to the Honourable Minister, Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation.

He noted that the Ministry of Information and Communication has recorded several successes, including the renovation and digitization of the Bauchi State Television, upgrading of the transmission system at the Bauchi Radio Corporation, and creation of additional directorates to improve service delivery.

The Commissioner praised Governor Mohammed for his media-friendly approach and achievements in the last five years.
