The UPND Government is making significant strides in fulfilling its campaign promises, achieving 80 percent of its goals according to a midterm review conducted by policy experts at State House.

Joseph Lungu, Special Assistant to the President for Policy Compliance, shared insights into the progress during an interview with ZNBC News. He highlighted that the government’s efforts have been directed by the UPND Manifesto and the 8th National Development Plan, ensuring a structured approach to development.

Among the notable achievements is the substantial increase in the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), which has been raised from 1.6 million Kwacha to an impressive 30.6 million Kwacha. This boost is expected to enhance local development projects and community services significantly.

Additionally, the government has successfully reintroduced the free education policy, a key promise during the campaign. This initiative aims to make education more accessible to all Zambian children, reducing the financial burden on families. Another significant accomplishment is the reinstatement of meal allowances for students, further supporting their educational journey.

These developments reflect the UPND Government’s commitment to improving the socio-economic landscape of Zambia and fulfilling its electoral promises.
