Ondo Guber: LP Aspirant Accepts Electoral Selection Process, Congratulates Consensus Candidate

Independent 2024/5/13

LAGOS – A leading Labour Party (LP) governorship aspirant in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Ondo State, Otunba Charles Yemi Farimoyo, has lauded the outcome of the governorship primary election of the party held on Friday in Akure, Ondo State.

He also commended the efforts of the national leaders of the party for their interventions and commitments to LP ideals.

In a press statement on Saturday signed by Farimoyo, the LP chieftain commended the national leaders of the party for brokering an ingenious electoral consensus for the LP in Ondo State gubernatorial primaries, stressing that the absolute survival and impregnable cohesiveness of the great party is sacrosanct to him.

He said, “Despite the fact that I wasn’t chosen as the consensus candidate of the party and knowing for a fact that the party will perfect the process soon, I hereby state categorically that I won’t allow the valuable time, priceless efforts and exceptional passion of all our distinguished party stalwarts and leaders to be in vain. I’m a party man to the core and will always remain a party man forever.”

Recall that while addressing party delegates and supporters after the primary exercise on Friday 26th of April 2024 at the LP state secretariat in Akure, Farimoyo stressed that despite individual differences and interests, they must be their brothers keeper and permanently remain united in the LP as they have a very good opportunity to muscle the Ondo State governorship position and take over the sunshine state.

“Let’s congratulate ourselves as a united family that we all could rise above the pains of the process and that we’re able to transform our pains to gains collectively, by ensuring that we were able to satisfy the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines so that we can field a candidate at the upcoming Ondo State gubernatorial election, thereby beating the deadline by the whiskers.

The Ondo born business mogul urged party faithful to support the consensus candidate, calling for unwavering determination in unity towards the progress of the party.
