PlayStation Announces a Premium Collection of Figures

nag.co.za 2 days ago

Whether you call them figures, collectables or poppies, PlayStation has just announced some awesomely articulated statues that will undoubtedly have your wallet crying.

Teaming up with Spin Master, PlayStation has designed five figures from some of their top PlayStation Studios titles to create The Shapes Collection.

This new collection features Aloy and Varl from Horizon Forbidden West, Kratos and Atreus from God of War Ragnarök, and Jin Sakai from Ghost of Tsushima.

Aloy has the most features as she holds the sole position of “Deluxe 6-inch Figure” from the collection, while the other four are from the “Core 6-inch Figure” range.

With over 40 points of articulation, some even in her hair, and twelve different accessories, from hands to multitudes of faces, Aloy allows you to pose her in any and every position you’ve achieved in-game.

That doesn’t mean the rest of the set is not as fantastic, though. They, too, come with between 24 and 32 different articulation points, depending on the figure, and a range of accessories to bring them to life.

PlayStation has said that the goal of this collection is to bring gamers closer to their games; therefore, the figures had to be as posable and customisable as possible.

We’re excited to have a new action figure version of Jin that fans can keep on their shelf to protect their home. Jin’s Ghost armour has so many beautiful details, including intricate fabric patterns and overlapping armour plates that are integral to the design of his character. In addition to his katana, it’s also always important to us to see all of his various Ghost tools represented to capture his different fighting techniques.

The Shapes Collection will open pre-orders on the US Amazon site on the 15th of July, and shipping is expected around mid-September. As these are PlayStation-approved figures, I’m sure we’ll see them in some of our local collectable stores soon after shipping.
