Liverpool could need just one more win in the Premier League in order to secure a multi-million-pound jackpot.
The Reds have just three top-flight fixtures remaining this season before Jurgen Klopp's time as manager comes to an end. From that point, the Arne Slot era is set to begin with the Feyenoord boss expected to take over this summer.
Between now and the end of the season, Liverpool will still have ambitions of amassing as many points as possible. Recent weeks have seen the Reds' hopes of winning the Premier League title dealt major blows with dropped points in games against Manchester United, Crystal Palace, Everton and West Ham.
With Manchester City and Arsenal having the advantage over the Reds in the title race, it's becoming increasingly likely that third place is where Liverpool will finish in the league table this season. One win from their final three games against Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Wolves would be enough to see the club finish no lower than third. And while that would result in disappointment at not winning the title, it would still see a sizable amount of money go to the club.
Finishing third in the Premier League is estimated to see Liverpool earn a total of £160 million for their efforts in the top flight. This is due to the various payments that are made to every club in the league for their performance in the season.
Each position in the Premier League is thought to be worth £3.1 million, with Southampton earning that figure for finishing bottom of the table last season, while title winners Man City earned £62.3 million. If this was to be applied to this season then Liverpool would earn £56.1 million for finishing third this season.
All top-flight clubs also earn a share of the £5.1 billion TV deal with the Premier League, which would equate to Liverpool receiving an additional £79 million as part of their annual share. Not to mention, there is also expected to be an additional £25 million in a facility fee.
As a result, Liverpool could earn as much as £160 million this season in the Premier League, not to mention their prize funds from the other three cup competitions.
