The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange settled in the positive zone in the 27th week of trading in 2024 following a 0.52 per cent appreciation in the five-day trading week.

Spurred by three gainers in a week with two flat outcomes, the market capitalisation gained N11 billion to close at N2.112 trillion compared with the previous week’s N2.100 trillion, as the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) went up by 8.03 points to 1,541.03 points from 1,533.00 points.

Purple Real Estate Plc led the gainers with a 20.9 per cent appreciation to close at N5.66 per share versus the previous week’s closing value of N4.68 per share, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc improved by 9.9 per cent to end at N50.72 per unit against the previous week’s N46.16 per unit, and NASD Plc added 5.3 per cent to close at N15.00 per share, in contrast to the N14.25 per share it traded in Week 26.

On the flip side, Afriland Properties Plc lost 0.6 per cent to end at N18.00 per unit against the former value of N18.10 per unit, and Aradel Holdings Plc slipped by 0.2 per cent to close at N4,990.00 per share versus the previous closing value of N5,000.00 per share.

The total volume of transactions during the week dropped by 95.9 per cent to 1.6 million units from 39.2 million units, the total value trades went south by 18.1 per cent to N1.2 billion from N1.46 billion, and the number of deals depreciated by 30.9 per cent to 154 deals from 223 deals.

Purple Real Estate Plc was the most traded security by volume last week with 0.504 million units, FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc traded 0.272 million units, Acorn Petroleum Plc exchanged 0.250 million units, Aradel Holdings Plc transacted 0.245 million units, and Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc traded 0.138 million units.

In terms of the value of trades in the week, Aradel Holdings Plc topped with N1.2 billion, FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc followed with N140 million, CSCS Plc posted N30 million, Purple Real Estate Plc recorded N30 million then Afriland Properties Plc traded N10 million.
