Nottinghamshire is set for warm temperatures contrasted by some heavy thundery showers over the next seven days, according to the Met Office. The forecaster has predicted highs of 23C earlier on in the week, as well as some "unseasonably cool" temperatures as we move towards Friday.

The Met Office has predicted Monday, July 8 will be "probably a fine day", with light winds and warmer sunny spells. A spokesperson for the forecaster said: "Monday will probably be a fine day, with light winds and some warm sunny spells.

"The sunshine perhaps will become hazy in the south of the county later on as high cloud spreads in here. Maximum temperature is set to be 23C." From Tuesday (July 9) to Thursday (July 11), the forecaster has predicted: "Unseasonably cool and unsettled through this period, with Tuesday cloudy and wet, ahead of a risk of widespread thundery showers midweek, probably gradually becoming drier through Thursday."

From Thursday onwards, the county is set for a period of settled weather throughout the end of the working week and into the weekend. The statement from the forecaster added: "Many places should see a day or two of fine weather with some sunny spells, albeit on the cool side for July.

"Thereafter a transition back to rather more changeable conditions looks most likely. Some areas will probably see more in the way of cloud and rain, whereas other parts stand a better chance of longer periods of dry weather.

"However, some rain may extend further southeast across all parts of the UK at times. Temperatures will probably pan out close to average overall, though some warmer weather is possible in the south coincident with drier, sunnier periods."
