  • In a candid reflection, KOK suggested that rather than following the tradition of giving first salaries to pastors, such gestures could be more meaningfully directed towards personal or family-oriented endeavors, offered a fresh perspective with his characteristic wisdom and charm.

Veteran actor Anayo Modestus Onyekwere, popularly known as Kanayo O. Kanayo, set social media abuzz with a significant gesture of him proudly accepting his son Clinton’s first salary,.

This impactful moment followed Kanayo’s recent introduction of Clinton into the Nollywood scene as a filmmaker, where he firmly instructed fellow crew members to treat his son just like everyone else.

In an exciting development, KOK, via his Facebook page, recently shared with fans the heartwarming news of his son earning his first paycheck as a young man.

The actor expressed his desire to mark this special milestone by ceremoniously bestowing his Father’s Blessings upon his son.

His words;

“I want to observe a culture from our ancestors which has led to the progress of many people you’re seeing today, father’s blessing. Clinton Onyeze, my son, has just concluded a film production management with us and he has earned his first salary, N50,000 for the movie”

Expanding on his thoughts, Kanayo O. Kanayo elaborated that within Igbo culture, it is customary for a young man to present his first earnings to his father, allowing for a heartfelt prayer and invaluable lessons in financial stewardship.

Continuing passionately, the seasoned movie star emphasized his belief that those who opt to offer their first salaries to pastorsare only wasting their time.

He said;

“This is the culture of Ndigbo, the first salary of a young man goes to his father, the father may decide to take the entire money or decide to collect N1000, N2000, or N5000, it is in Igbo culture and his father will bless him.

“The idea of his father asking him to know his salary is to teach him financial management, he will now tell him how to manage his money and how to make it in life, he will now pronounce his blessings. So all you who are going to the pastors to sow your salary, you’re wasting your time, it’s not part of our culture. Only a father can bless his son or daughter.”

Following this touching moment, KOK lovingly laid his hands on his son, offered a heartfelt prayer of guidance and protection.

Emphasizing his deep connection with his son, he reiterated that besides God, he serves as his son’s primary source of support and guidance in this world.
