BREAKING: Super Eagles battle 2026 World Cup rivals Benin, Rwanda for 2025 AFCON spots

The Super Eagles will have to go past 2026 World Cup rivals Benin and Rwanda to reach the 2025 AFCON.

Libya are the other team in Group D with the top two teams qualifying for the tournament proper in Morocco.

This followed today’s draw in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Nigeria will seeking to immediately avenge a shock 2-1 loss they suffered against Benin in June in a 2026 World Cup qualifier in Abidjan.

Rwanda top Group C of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers with seven points, while Benin are third on the same points, but inferior goals difference.

Nigeria are fifth with three points from four matches.

The 2025 AFCON qualifying tournament will begin in September and end in November.

The 2025 AFCON will kick off on December 21, 2025, and end on January 18, 2026 in Morocco.
