Xavi Simons has reportedly alerted Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and other Premier League clubs if he will be heading to England later this summer.

The PSG winger is currently one of the most in-demand players in world football having returned to Paris earlier this summer after a fantastic loan spell with RB Leipzig, with Simons now impressing at Euro 2024 with the Netherlands.

With reports suggesting that Simons is intent on leaving PSG this summer, the likes of Arsenal have joined the race to sign the former FC Barcelona wonderkid, with the Premier League an ideal landing spot for the 21-year-old superstar.

However, Arsenal have now received some bad news from Simons’ camp.

Simons to reject Premier League move despite Arsenal interest

TBR Football claim that Simons’ team have alerted Premier League teams that the PSG man won’t be moving to England this summer, all-but ending Arsenal’s hopes of signing the versatile playmaker this transfer window.

With a return to the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich the most likely destination for Simons this summer, it’s perhaps no real surprise why the forward has now told the likes of Arsenal that he will not be making the switch to the Premier League.

However, this update is not the end of the world for Arsenal, who always felt like an unlikely destination for Simons this summer given their need for an all-out attacker rather than a creative wide-forward like the Dutch international.

Moreover, at just 21-years-old, should Simons one day become an ideal target for Arsenal, the north London side have plenty of time ahead of them to reignite their interest in the PSG star, who could then be swayed to make the move to England.

Simons is part of the new generation of young players who know exactly what they want from their careers and which moves will serve them best at certain stages of their development.

And the 21-year-old addressing Premier League clubs and stating that he isn’t open to a move to England just yet has saved Arsenal a lot of time and money in potentially chasing the PSG forward this summer.

With more targets out there, Simons rejecting a move to the Premier League will not be a major crisis for Arsenal, who can now move on from the Dutch international and look at other players who could be more suited for the upcoming season.
