Oyebanji Promises Improved Working Conditions for Ekiti Workers

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to providing a conducive working environment and necessary tools for workers to excel. 

 during the inauguration of the state’s new Head of Service, Dr. (Mrs.) Folakemi Olomojobi in Ado Ekiti, Governor Oyebanji urged workers to reciprocate the government’s goodwill through diligence and dedication to achieving the government’s agenda.

Governor Oyebanji highlighted several initiatives undertaken by his administration to support workers, including the payment of salary arrears, leave bonus arrears, adjustment of minimum wage across all cadres, and wage awards aimed at alleviating economic challenges. 

He emphasized the importance of sustaining ongoing reforms in the state’s civil service.

Dr. Olomojobi, previously the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, becomes the second female Head of Service in the state’s history. 

Governor Oyebanji charged her to leverage her position to enhance the talents and skills of the workforce for effective service delivery, emphasizing zero tolerance for laziness and professional misconduct in the civil service.

The governor emphasized that Dr. Olomojobi’s appointment was based on her competence, impactful service record, and objective assessment, in line with the administration’s merit-based policy.

“There is no doubt that Dr. Olomojobi is one of the highly trained, globally exposed, intellectually sophisticated public servants. She comes with a lot of skills that will bring remarkable improvement to the civil and public service of Ekiti state.

“The positive response that greeted her appointment across the ranks and files of the service is eloquent testimony to her suitability for the position.

During the inauguration, Governor Biodun Oyebanji called on Dr. Folakemi Olomojobi, the new Head of Service, to effectively mobilize the state’s bureaucratic structure to realize the six pillars of his administration. He emphasized the high expectations placed on her, highlighting the civil service’s role as a trailblazer who must excel in all aspects.

Governor Oyebanji urged Dr. Olomojobi to serve as an inspiration to her colleagues across all cadres and emphasized the need to eradicate indolence and professional misconduct within the civil service.

In response, Dr. Folakemi Olomojobi commended the Governor for his leadership style and the reforms that have elevated Ekiti State’s status among other states. She pledged her commitment to ensuring that public servants align with the six pillars of the administration, aiming to achieve the government’s shared prosperity agenda.

Dr. Olomojobi affirmed that civil servants’ primary focus is to efficiently and effectively implement government policies aimed at delivering public good through the six pillars.
