Gov. Fubara Vows to Prioritise Youth Welfare, Support Youth Corpers
Mr. Fubara, during the swearing-in ceremony, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Hamilton Amadi, on Tuesday, gave the assurance to the 2024 Batch B Stream 1 Corps Members deployed to the state Permanent Orientation Camp, Nonwa-Gbam in Tai Local Government Area.
His administration aims “to give priority to the welfare of youths by providing them with an enabling environment to discover and harness their God-given potentials,” he said, reassuring the youth corpers.
He also discussed their enhanced program, SAED (Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development), which aims to empower Corps members and enable them to become self-sufficient at the conclusion of their service year.”
The Rivers State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. George Mfongang, meanwhile, expressed gratitude to the Corps Members for their honorable and nationalistic sacrifices made over a 51-year period of service in building the nation.
Mfongang emphasized the importance of the exercise to the youth corps and urged them to entrench unity, socio-economic development, peace, and prosperity in the nation.
Justice Simeon Amadi, the Chief Judge of Rivers State, was represented by Justice Opufaa Ben-Whyte, who administered the Oath of Allegiance to the Corps Members.
