The Minority Members of Parliament (MPs) have continued their boycott of parliamentary proceedings in support of Minority Leader Cassiel Ato Forson, currently implicated in a financial controversy surrounding ambulance procurement.

The boycott strategy involves abstaining from chamber activities on days when Forson is required to appear in court for the ongoing ambulance procurement case.

Instead, they await the conclusion of court sessions before participating in parliamentary affairs.

Despite Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin’s earlier agreement to start parliamentary sittings at 3 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the designated trial days, to accommodate the Minority, their benches remained empty as proceedings began at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2.

The boycott underscores the Minority’s solidarity with Forson amidst legal proceedings, highlighting ongoing tensions within Ghana’s legislative body over handling the ambulance procurement issue.
