MMA2 Hosts First Wedding Event In Nigerian Airports

LAGOS – Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), the operator of Murtala Muhammed Airport Two (MMA2), Lagos over the weekend hosted the first wedding event at any Nigeria’s airports.

The terminal operator said that the wedding ceremony in the ticketing hall was parts of its relentless pursuit of innovation, creativity, and technological advancement.

A statement by Ajoke Yinka-Olawuyi, the Head, Corporate Communications, BASL, said that this ceremony embodying its slogan, ‘More than a terminal,’ was an example of its ability to craft unique experiences and activities within its terminal, thereby enhancing the journey for passengers and terminal users through various innovative expressions.

Yinka-Olawuyi, emphasised that the event was poised to significantly impact the travel, entertainment and aviation sectors.

She stressed that it would also elevate the recognition of MMA2 and the Nigerian aviation sector globally, drawing attention to its innovative spirit.

“We aim to create an unforgettable experience for all, whether they witness the event in person or through the videos and photos shared online. Through this event, Nigeria will gain global recognition,” she said.

The event tagged: ‘My Airport Wedding,’ took place in the ticketing hall of MMA2, featuring a real couple, Agboola Abiodun Qudus and Olamide Miracle, exchanging their wedding vows at the airport, surrounded by family, friends, well-wishers, and terminal users.

She said: “Our commitment to innovation is reflected in our continuous efforts to introduce new activities and initiatives. This approach has cemented our position as a leader in the aviation sector.

“‘My Airport Wedding’ was a landmark event that showcased the depth of our brand’s creativity and commitment to exceptional passenger experiences. Attendees were immersed in the couple’s beautiful love story, creating a buzz of excitement and leaving a lasting impression on all who witnessed this extraordinary occasion.”

The idea, a brainchild of Monica Oguta, was brought to actualisation by Korede Ogunseinde, the Head of the Creative Service Department, the statement said.

Ogunseinde, in his reaction, stated that BASL cherishes its passengers and terminal users, saying that this event was its unique way of expressing that love.

“We are thrilled to offer a bride the opportunity to celebrate her dream wedding in an unprecedented venue, blending romance with the excitement of travel,” Ogunseinde added.
