Corporate social responsibility: Nigerian Army Commissions Borehole in Plateau community of Bokkos

The Nigerian Army has Commissioned a forty thousand litre water storage facility powered by solar energy at Mandarken community  in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State. 

Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja said the activity is part of Civil military cooperation project in commemoration of  Nigerian Army day celebration in twenty twenty- four.

Lagbaja who was represented by the Director General Nigerian Army heritage and future center Major General Obinna Ajunwa, said the choice of  the community was informed by the fact that the area was affected by crises. 

He explained that the modest effort is to ensure the community returns to normalcy in all spheres. And urged them to take properly take ownership of the the project. 

Earlier in his welcome address the committee Chairman and project supervisor, captain Dauda Magem, said the project aims at fostering mutual relationship between the Nigerian Army and the community and it will benefit the population of  eight hundred  to one thousand people. 

The traditional ruler of Bokkos, Monday Adanchi, represented by the Saf Lazarus Agai, thank the Nigerian Army for their kind gesture and assured of proper maintenance of the borehole.

Transition interim Chairman of Bokkos commended the Nigeria Army for choosing his local Government by providing them with portable drinking water. 

Highlight of the program was the commissioning of the borehole, peace football match by two communities signifying peaceful coexistence in the presence of religious, community leaders and well wishers.
