Hijra 1446AH: Ansar-Ud-Deen Seeks Peace, Progress For Citizens, Hijra Holiday

LAGOS – As Muslims in Nigeria join the global community to mark Hijra 1446AH, Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria has extended warm congratulations to Muslims worldwide on the occasion of the New Year.

ADS in a statement by Muhammed Sola Hassan, the society’s National Publicity Secretary prayed for Allah’s blessings, peace, prosperity and happiness.

The society seized the opportunity of the season to remind Muslim ummah and Nigerians in general of the importance of caring for the welfare of citizens, particularly the vulnerable.

The statement read, “May this new year bring us closer to achieving a Society that prioritizes justice, compassion, and equality for all. We urge all citizens to work together to build a brighter future for ourselves and generations to come.”

The society called on the Federal Government to declare work-free day for the celebration of Islamic New Year in the interest of equity and justice.

It added, “We urge the Federal and State governments to do more in addressing the pressing issues affecting our nation, including food security, protection of lives and properties of the citizenry, continued provision of infrastructures and conducive environment to attract foreign direct investments to our dear country.

“May our leaders be guided by the principles of justice, equity, and compassion.

“Finally, let us remember the teachings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him): “Be kind to the needy, and feed the hungry” (Bukhari). As we celebrate this new year, let us show kindness and generosity to those around us, working towards a more just and equitable society for all.

“Wishing you all a blessed and joyous Islamic New Year,” the statement added.
