The Boys' Seven leader suggests there's zero chance he's switching from Homelander to Booster Gold anytime soon, despite rampant speculation. Homelander actor Antony Starr downplays links to the DC Universe hero and claims to know little about him.

Speaking with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Starr addressed the potential of playing Booster Gold in the James Gunn and Peter Safran-led DCU, having been identified by many fancasts as a perfect suitor for the role. Not only does Starr not see himself playing Booster Gold, he's not sure who the character is or what he's about. "Booster Gold. What does he do?" Starr said. "No, tell me. I genuinely don't [know]. I'm a little slow. Does he got blonde hair? Wow, how did you come up with that? You really dug deep for that one."

Homelander's Mortal Kombat 1 Ending Creates a Better Villain Than the TV Show

Mortal Kombat 1 has a terrifying ending for Homelander that makes him a much more intimidating villain than what fans have seen in the TV show.

Starr has been linked to the Booster Gold series for months, with reports he's been secretly cast as the central character in the upcoming Max show, a part of the DCU's Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. However, Starr insists he doesn't know where the rumors originated and doesn't see himself featuring prominently in an action series. "I'm getting old, and my body doesn't want to do much action anymore," Starr said. "I want to sit and go, 'Hey, you can't do that stuff.' I want to sit behind a desk on a CSI show [Laughs]."

Many names have been fancast as Starr since Gunn and Safran announced the Booster Gold series in January of last year as a part of its DCU slate, which includes five films and five Max shows. Twisters star Glen Powell and Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul have been suggested as possible fits to play the cocky time-traveler. Booster Gold, who first appeared in 1986's Booster Gold #1, is a former football star from the 25th century who initially steals technology in his hopes of returning to the 20th century and becoming a superhero. However, his intentions become purer as he stands up for the innocent and upholds justice.

The first Max series will be Creature Commandos, starring Frank Grillo's Rick Flag Sr., which debuts this December.

Antony Starr Continues to Shine as Homelander on The Boys

Meanwhile, Starr is back to his diabolical best in The Boys Season 4, with some suggesting he deserves an Emmy nomination for his Homelander portrayal. Starr's character is a major talking point throughout, as he faces a murder trial for the slaying of a pro-Starlight supporter in the Season 3 finale and works alongside the condescending Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) to help her presidential ambitions.

The Boys Season 4 is now available to stream via Prime Video.
