Delhi Weather Today: The weather department has predicted generally cloudy skies with the possibility of light rain, thunderstorms and lightning today, Saturday. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 33 and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.

On Friday, the skies over the national capital remained cloudy throughout the day, with light rainfall of 0.6 mm recorded, providing a pleasant respite from the summer heat. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the temperature in Delhi was recorded at 33.2 degrees Celsius, which is three degrees Celsius below normal.

The overcast conditions and light precipitation contributed to a significant improvement in the city's air quality, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) remaining in the 'satisfactory' category for the second consecutive day. Apart from Faridabad and Gurugram, the air quality in other major cities of the National Capital Region (NCR) was also reported to be clean.

Delhi Weather In Coming Days

Furthermore, the IMD has forecasted that the monsoon trough will continue to oscillate near Delhi, with moderate showers expected from July 4 to 6. The intensity of rain is expected to decrease slightly from July 7 to 9, but a new cyclonic circulation forming over the Bay of Bengal around July 7 will move inland, enhancing monsoon activity over eastern and central India.

This circulation is anticipated to approach southwest Uttar Pradesh and northwest Madhya Pradesh by July 9, reactivating the monsoon trough. As a result, renewed monsoon activity, with moderate showers, is expected in Delhi and the NCR region from July 10 to 12.

Despite the ongoing and expected rainfall, the weather conditions are not expected to disrupt normal activities in the city. The pleasant temperatures during the day and night, coupled with the cloudy skies, will suppress the sunshine for the next five to six days, providing a much-needed respite from the sultry summer weather.
