There are three eye-catching items all recommended for approval on the agenda for the council’s planning committee next week.

Here is what Bury Council’s planning control committee will be deciding on when it meets on Tuesday, 9 July.

Radcliffe Enterprise Centre

Bury Council is looking to convert the existing Radcliffe library into an 8,100 sq ft coworking facility, off Stand Lane.

If approved it would be remodelled to include a series of bookable offices ranging from 170 sq ft to 345 sq ft.

There would also be 2,500 sq ft of communal space, another 500 sq ft reserved for hotdesking, and a 420 sq ft meeting room at the £40m facility.

Designed by Ryder Architecture, it is being funded from the authority’s successful £20m Levelling Up Fund bid.

Supported living

Great Places Housing Group is looking to deliver 18 supported living apartments and 25 dwellings at Kemp Heaton Avenue, between Bury Cemetery and the Peachment Place extra care apartments.

This includes the construction of a vehicle access point and associated parking and landscaping.

The intention is to create a supportive living housing estate close to Bury town centre, providing a safe and secure place for those with disabilities to live.

Proposals show a mixture of eight bungalows, seven dwellings and 10 cottage flats.

The bungalows and two-storey dwellings would be adjacent to the main access road.

The flats would be two-storey in height, with a one-bedroom flat on each floor. A total of 52 car parking spaces would be created as part of the development.

AEW Architects, Hive, Campbell Reith, Eddisons, Saville Landscape, Professional Consult, E3P, Mulberry, Anderton Gable, and Hargreaves are on the project team.

Eccleston Homes is behind the residential development plans for the former Mondi paper mill on Holcombe Mill, off Bridge Street in Ramsbottom.

They are looking to build 57 dwellings on the seven-acre site after the demolition of all but three buildings and a chimney being retained as part of the Ramsbottom Conservation Area.

This would provide a mix of terraced, semi-detached, and detached homes ranging from one- to four-bedrooms, and 137 parking spaces.

Plans also cover the development of a substation, public open space, landscaping, and the layout of internal estate roads and footways.

Lichfields, Ascerta, SCP, JPM Acoustics, Enzygo, and BETTS Geo feature on the project team for this one.
