The much-anticipated results of the toxicology test, conducted to determine the cause of death of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, have been unveiled.

During a session at the coroner’s court in Ikorodu district, State attorney Oluwaseun Akinde acknowledged the American origin of the examination in November 2023, as reported by Eyes Of Lagos.

Progress Update:

Akinde noted the completion of the autopsy focusing on the external body of the deceased and the subsequent commencement of the toxicology test to investigate internal factors.

Recently, an official from the Lagos State Government, speaking on condition of anonymity due to lack of authorization, disclosed to our correspondent that the test results had returned to Nigeria. Moreover, a copy had been forwarded to the police.

According to the official, the toxicology test, initially estimated to take 10 weeks, was expedited. The laboratory responsible for the test was destroyed during the #EndSARS protests, necessitating the samples to be sent abroad. With the results now back in Nigeria, it is the responsibility of the police to proceed with their investigation and potential legal actions.

A source within the Lagos State Police Command, also speaking anonymously, confirmed the receipt of the toxicology report. However, the report is currently being deciphered by pathologists who conducted the autopsy. Once interpreted, the findings will be disseminated through the office of the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO).
