Nigerian Police Probe Viral Video Showing Ekiti University Female Student Brutalising Colleague

Despite pleas from Gloria, the bully was heard saying, "Let me draw blood from you easily or hardly” during an altercation that happened between them on Sunday within the premises of the university.

The Nigeria Police Force has begun a probe into a viral video which showed the moment a female undergraduate of the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education Science and Technology, Ikere in Ekiti State brutalised her fellow student. 

According to a narrator in the video, the victim was identified as Ajayi Precious Gloria and she was seen being beaten with sticks by a student of the Mass Communication department at the school. 

Despite pleas from Gloria, the bully was heard saying, "Let me draw blood from you easily or hardly” during an altercation that happened between them on Sunday within the premises of the university.

Reacting in a press statement issued by the command via its X page on Tuesday, the police stated that its operatives were not aware of the incident. 

The statement reads: “This is to inform the general public especially all concerned citizens and good people of Ekiti State that the State Police Command is not unaware of a video circulating currently on the social media where a female student of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere- Ekiti (BOUESTI) was seen assaulting and molesting her fellow female student. The Command describes the act as inhumane and unacceptable

“The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP Akinwale Kunle Adeniran, has therefore, ordered a discreet investigation into the incident as he has already directed Ikere Area Commander to liaise with the Management of the Institution and ensure the perpetrator is identified investigated and made to face the legal consequence(s) of her barbaric action.

“Meanwhile, members of the public are implored to be calm and avoid taking laws into their hands as necessary action is underway.”
