How to watch the Cleveland Guardians vs. Detroit Tigers - MLB (July 29-30) | Channel, stream, preview
DETROIT -- For the third time in a matter of weeks, the Detroit Tigers will face off with the Cleveland Guardians. This time, it will be a quick two-game series in the Motor City, beginning on Monday night.
After an impressive stretch of play since the All-Star Break, the Tigers received a slice of humble pie over the weekend. In a three-game set against another American League Central rival, the Minnesota Twins, Detroit dropped two of three to the visitors, including being one-hit in the deciding game on Sunday.
It certainly brought down the Tigers’ fans’ spirits. Following a stretch where the Bengals won 10 of 12 games, the team has dropped five of their last eight. They remain fourth in the Central, 12 games back of the Guardians for first place, and 5.5 behind the Kansas City Royals for the last Wild Card spot.
The Guardians might have been having some slip-ups at the beginning of the second half of the 2024 campaign, they come into Detroit after a tough series where they came out on the winning end. Cleveland traveled to the City of Brotherly Love, and took two of three against the best team in baseball, the Philadelphia Phillies. The Guardians come into this series 4.5 games clear of the Twins for first in the division.
The Tigers are 6-5 against the Guardians this year, with the two teams splitting a four-game set in Cleveland last week.
