Chidera Ejuke – CSKA Moscow to Sevilla
The 26-year-old was among the first Nigerian players to secure a transfer ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Ejuke lit up the scenes in the Belgian league as Royal Antwerp went all out for a Jupiler League crown in the recently concluded season.
According to data from FotMob, Ejuke was directly involved in 10 goals in his 39 appearances for Mark van Bommel’s side.
The fleet-footed forward, who last featured for Nigeria in 2022, is eager to earn a recall to the national team. He believes that a move to Sevilla will enhance his chances.
Ejuke has signed a three-year deal, making him Sevilla’s first signing of the summer and the first Nigerian footballer set to represent the Andalusian club.
Anthony Nwakaeme – Al-Fayha to Trabzonspor
Turkish Super Lig side, Trabzonspor, also confirmed the re-signing of Super Eagles forward, Anthony Nwakaeme.
The 35-year-old returns to the club after a two-year stint with Saudi Pro League outfit, Al-Fayha. The veteran forward agreed to a one-year deal with the Turkish side, with an option for an additional season.
According to the media outlet, 61 Saat, Nwakaeme is expected to earn salaries in the region of €1.5 million annually at the Black Sea Storm, with the potential for higher earnings through bonuses.
During his first stint with Trabzonspor, Nwakaeme was highly productive, contributing to over 50 goals, as reported by Fotmob.
Arthur Okonkwo – Arsenal to Wrexham
The 22-year-old is another Nigerian who has completed a transfer in the early stages of the summer window.
The Arsenal star penned a three-year deal with the League One new boys, Wrexham, which will run from the first day of July to the end of the 2027 season, per the club’s official statement.
The Arsenal academy graduate was on loan with a League 2 club last season, and he went on to make his debut against Newcastle U21s in the EFL Trophy. Okonkwo racked up 40 appearances across all competitions, keeping 16 clean sheets, according to data from Fotmob.
