BAUCHI – The Zaar Youth Development Association has expressed dismay over an act of intimidation by a former President of Zaar Development Association who allegedly ordered the destruction of a farm belonging to his political rival, Mrs Suzana Yakubu while he spared the farms belonging to his supporters situated within it’s secretariat premises in Tafawa Balewa town.
This was contained in a press statement by Comrade Ga’allah Daniel ,the ZAYODA National Youth Leader and made available to journalists in Bauchi.
According to the National Youth leader of the association, the former ZAYODA leader carried out his act of intimidation due to the ongoing political crisis in the Association.
He stated that the association I against such an act of intimidation against its member which is a taboo in the land of Zaar.
“Our forebears say in an old adage that anyone who destroyed your harvested corn gathered (Bomdi wah) by putting fire on it or destroy your farm in any form is as equal as killing the person”
“ZAYODA sees this as a pure act of wickedness at its peak for someone to carryout the destruction of planted crops under the pretense of averting land encroachment in a Secretariat that belong to all of us”
“This woman you attacked is the duly elected Treasurer just as you claimed to be the elected President.That she has chosen the path of righteousness along side the patriotic Zaar sons and daughters, who believes in Baba Gonto school of thought pertaining our collective struggle for self determination, does not warrant the basis for such hatred against her”
“Let me make this categorically clear that we have directed her to replant her farm and let no one play God no matter how wicked he is, by destroying her farm again the second time. We as leaders must lead by example, you have no reason whatsoever to destroy her farm simply because she disagree with your leadership style and attitude against Zaar land.
“That she does not agree with your faulty ideologies does not mean you should destroy her means of livelihood. This further proves and justify that what she rejected in your leadership is absolutely true. Mind you , we are not cowards”
“This dastardly act which is the first taboo in Zaar Land that a leader destroys his fellow farm land because she doesn’t buy to his leadership model is capable of causing an uproar, breach of peace and order, giving to the harsh economy whereby good leaders are seeking for means to improve the welfare and wellbeing of their members”
“Your own kind of leadership is to add to the hardship of your members? In an Association whose sole objectives is to look after and improve the welfare of its members? Your action in this regard is a misplaced priority and a sign of a failed leadership .We call on our teaming youth to remain calm and resolute as everything is under control.
