In a Q&A session with his fans on X on Sunday, May 26, 2024, the music star disclosed that ‘Call On Me‘ was a transition he considers the biggest risk of his career.

“It took a lot to release that song! I was afraid because it was very new, and it’d appear strange to fans, but mo stubborn, so I did it afraid. I’m proud I took the biggest risk of my career with that song!” he said.

Although it was the biggest risk, it was Adekunle Gold’s first successful attempt at Afro-Pop. He further revealed during the Q&A that two other songs from the album, Damn Delilah and Nurse Alabeere, were written about an ex.

“Long story short, one Saturday morning, I got a threat call from a random guy saying I should back off, I should never speak to his woman again. I called the babe immediately, she don block me everywhere. Lol. I got so heartbroken and made Damn Delilah,” he added.
